June 24-26, 2005
Vancouver, British Columbia

During the weekend of June 24-26, 2005, the City of Vancouver hosted 62 breast cancer survivor boat teams from around the world. Spirit Abreast was fortunate to be there. In addition to an incredible weekend celebrating our own personal race against breast cancer, with upwards of 1500 breast cancer survivors, we had an exciting weekend of racing.
Our time in our first race was 2:36:58 and in the second 2:43:68. Believe it or not, we were ranked 13th out of the 62 teams at that point! Sunday morning, against the wind, we came in with a time of 2:53:30. We had made it to the D Division finals. When all was said and done, we ended up sixth in that race with a time of 2:55:10, only 0.08.10 seconds behind the winning Abreast of Life team. We were very happy with our performance! What a memorable and fantastic weekend it was! Great teamwork and great networking with fellow survivors from all corners of the world. What could be better than that?
